It’s been a heated and passionate discussion from both sides; between supporters of the late Gaddafi’s regime and those who rejoiced when it ended. In this article, we are bringing perspectives from both sides. Please note that the information you are about to read is not DUNIA written material, but thoughts of individuals.

Pro Gaddafi

Kaddafi is dead…I had predicted that in order to legitimize his assassination in the public eye, he was going to be muddied; and this has come to pass. Over the last several days the dominant media has filled airwaves with nothing but lies. How many of them know anything about life in Libya under Kaddafi?
Well, inform yourselves and stop believing in the lies spewing from the propaganda machines. Herewith are some of the “extremely devastating” conditions in which the people under the rule of martyred tyrant Kaddafi lived:

  • Free electricity, free gas, free health care and education (excellent level).
  • Each newlywed couple received $50,000 to purchase a house (yes, access to housing was a right of the Libyan people…). Kaddafi had stated that his own parents would not become home owners before every Libyan had become an owner. His parents died in their rental apartment.
  • Every car was State financed at 50%.
  • A liter of petrol (gas) was sold at $0.19 (USD).
  • Water was free…IN AFRICA!!!

Like in Venezuela, petrol served a purpose. The ineffective Kaddafi wanted to elevate Africa beyond need and corruption from the West. He wanted to create a single African currency based on Gold, called the Gold Dinar.

Something else you may not know, without a doubt, witnesses who incriminated Kaddafi for the Lockerbie incident acknowledged in 2009, that the American government paid out 4 million dollars as a “thank you” for their testimony. Where are they today?

The July 1st 2001 rally at the Green Square in Tripoli against bombings by OTAN – Organisation du traité de l’Atlantique Nord (also known as NATO) brought together 1.7 million people, i.e. about 95% of the population of the capital city and ⅓ of the Libyan population!!

Kaddafi always walked around freely and often without body guards, a sure sign that he was hated by the population…certainly. Oh yes…Libya has zero debt!

There will be no talk about the actions of the Rothschild family against the financial interests of the new Libyan central bank (newly established after Kaddafi’s reign).

It is time that you cease acting as accomplices for the murder of over 30,000 people, and the dissemination of false propaganda … you are being manipulated. Ask yourself some good questions; are there private commercial interests at stake? If yes, who stands to benefit? If not, then you are really naïve.

  1. The for point of view is definitely that of a Khadafi fanatic who equally has no respect for human life. The writer sees more value in materialism than in human dignity. The argument he is making is that so long as Khadafi gave free everything to some Libyans, he was entitled to kill others.

I say Khadafi could have done a lot more with the resources of the Libyan people than what he did, as much as there is no discounting some of the good. Also, there was a way of achieving the same results under his rule than how he did it. Oh well, by this author's standards, those of us that see different are naive

  2. Yes,the author portrays Gadhafi as a benevolent god who provided a lot of luxury to an undeserving people. The question is whether the Libyan resources were Gadhafi's private resources from which he shared with other Libyans. The Libyan people had a right to all those resources and Gadhafi was just a Libyan like any other Libyan. The author also fails to make mention of what portion of the people's resources was reserved for Gadhafi and his immediate family. Come to think of countries in the west where housing and livelihood is provided not only to the unemployed, but also to immigrants who most often can not be properly identified. Yet those who instituted such a benevolent system, did not cling to power for ever. Gadhafi held the Libyan people hostage for much too long, and almost made himself a deity. He gave the impression that anything not coming from him, would not be good enough for the Libyans. Assuming everyone believed in him,and he was not assassinated by his people,he would have still died one day,of a natural cause, and Libya would still be there with her resources, and the people would realise they had been fooled for decades. If one is a loving and caring parent,no stranger would turn his children against him.The Libyans who hunted down and killed Gadhafi, and those who celebrated his downfall, certainly knew the dictator better than the outsider who is the author of this article

  3. IT IS GOING TO BE FOOLISHNESS TO DISCUSS COLONEL GHADAFI WITHOUT INTER TWINNING THIS TO COLONIALISM, NEO-COLONIALISM, SLAVE TRADE AND SLAVERY…..ALL, DEEDS AND MISDEEDS OF THE CAPITALIST WESTERN COUNTRIES. FOR GOD's SAKE, THE COLONEL WAS JUST HUMAN AND SO HE DIED AFTER ALL. WESTERN "CIVILIZATION" IS STILL A STINKING CATASTROPHE.LET NO ONE FOOL THEMSELVES THAT OUR AFRICAN FIGHT TO KICK OUT DIRTY WESTERN COLONIAL INFLUENCE IS OVER BECAUSE THE COLONEL WAS BLOODIED AND MUDDIED. BATEY BATEY JOHNSON KNOWS THAT ONE DAY……WE SHALL NOT ONLY RUB SHOULDERS BUT DETERMINE THE Piper's TUNE. GO ON AND KILL WHOEVER YOU LIKE.

  4. I consider Gaddafi as a dictator who comes in to the class of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini etc and what made me to believe so is reading about him through medias, websites etc. But some people believe he was a good ruler and some are against him. He introduced many things to African people such as free electricity, water etc. Thanks for sharing more details about him.
