The Essence of Lema
a poem by Mirthell Bazemore, 2015
Voice as gentle as the morning breeze,
She flows into your life, like the autumn leaves.
With beautiful mahogany skin, and long braided hair,
While graced in her presence, it’s no wonder that one would stare.
She travels across the seas, from the States to the motherland,
A native of Cameroon, a queen she is… birthed from the African womb.
She is sultry, passionate and creative too
She is full of life as her wittiness is her virtue.
Now she’s a Georgia peach, with her charismatic ways
Athena the Greek Goddess, is nothing in comparison; in these current days.
The essence of Lema, runs deeper than the ocean floor,
graced in her presence, will leave you desiring more.
