A DUNIA MAGAZINE EVENT
DATE: August 21, 2015
VENUE: Student Center theatre, GA Institute of Technology (GA Tech)
TIME: 5PM ET
For fans and critics of Peres Owino’s docufilm – “BOUND: Africans Vs African Americans” – there is consensus that the award winning producer does more than bring the proverbial 800 pound gorilla to the table.
Through its successful release on i-Tunes early this summer, she casts an even wider net into the deep and treacherous waters that are at the epicenter of a sibling relationship that must be fixed for both sides to find purpose and fulfillment.
It is in this spirit that the multitalented Kenyan-born director, producer and writer will be in front of cameras and an eclectic audience at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) in Atlanta to watch and discuss the film on August 21, 2015.
Her invitation, at the behest of DUNIA, is also in continuation of the magazine’s series “Bridging the Gap – Conversations between Africans and African Americans”, which began a couple of years back in 2013 with the legendary actor, Isaiah Washington as guest of honor.
