Kisha Hugh is a school counselor currently working in China. Born in New York to Jamaican parents, the Alabama A&M University graduate says she’s always felt a strong need to find out where her ancestors came from. “From when I was a kid, I’ve always been interested in finding where I belong, what African country… I dreamt of Africa constantly,” reflects Kisha.
In 2015, Ms Hugh was able to trace her family’s maternal lineage through African Ancestry‘s DNA testing to the West African nation of Cameroon. In the following video diary, Kisha shares the steps she is taking in her remarkable journey of self-discovery; she also discusses her hopes for the future:
