As the Coronavirus continues to spread alarmingly in some U.S. cities, debates about adequate precautionary measures to help slow its spread and effective treatment methods have once again taken center stage.

Opinions, heated and even combative, on the COVID-19 “hot topic” across medical, political and personal lines have resulted in passionate finger-pointing, political posturing and even lawsuits between citizens.

While the virus is still to show signs of slowing down in one of the world’s most developed countries (America), statistics by Worldometers.info reveal 16,761,559 COVID-19 cases worldwide, 10,315,576 recoveries and 659,726 deaths.

In the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports 4,280,135 cases (54,448 new) and 147,672 deaths (of which 1,126 are new).

“There Is A Cure!”

Yesterday a press conference held by America’s Frontline Doctors on Capitol Hill to address COVID-19 made explosive news. Videos of the press conference were first presented to the public on social media by Brietbart, an American far-right news organization. These videos went viral fast, but were later pulled down by the main social media platforms citing misinformation.

We could not find an active website for America’s Frontline Doctors, but here is what we have learned: America’s Frontline Doctors is a group of Physicians working to help Americans deal with the virus. “We’re here to only help American patients and the American nation heal,” said Dr. Simone Gold, founder of the group during yesterday’s press conference. Not only are they addressing the cure they claim exists for COVID-19, they are also concerned about the lockdown and how it is affecting Americans, including the “importance of reopening schools”, as stated on their affiliate Tea Party Patriots’ website.

One of the doctors who spoke at yesterday’s press conference is originally from Cameroon and is based in Houston, Texas. Dr. Stella Immanuel revealed, “I am here because I have personally treated over 350 patients with COVID; patients that have diabetes, patients that have high blood pressure, patients that have asthma, old people – I think my oldest patient is 92, 87 year-olds. And the result has been the same. I put them on Hydroxychloroquin, I put them on Zinc, I put them on Zithromax. And they are all well.”

The following Tweet hailing Dr. Immanuel was retweeted by the President of the U.S. Donald Trump:
